Uninhabited, 2018

found photographs, mud

Each mud print in Uninhabited is an exploration of what it means to leave home as a young female from rural America. By painting mud from my childhood home over found images, I erase myself from what could have been. These photographs serve as documentations of my unborn children, unwed lovers and uninhabited houses. While I live my reality, I record the lives that I have left behind and gone beyond.
